How to update Palworld on your host

When Pocketpair drops a patch, the host needs to keep up. On RoxyCloud you back up, stop the process, update through the panel and boot again. PC and Xbox players also need the same build.

1. Back up the save

Before any reinstall, copy the saves folder. In the panel open Files, find the vale-cattiva world folder and download the contents to your PC or zip it and store it somewhere else.

  1. Open the server in the RoxyCloud panel.
  2. In the Console, with the world running, run Save to write progress.
  3. Stop the server in Power.
  4. In Files, locate the Palworld saves folder.
  5. Download the whole folder or make a copy with another name in the panel.

2. Stop the server

The update runs with the process off. In Power click stop and wait for the status to confirm the server is down. Do not reinstall while the world is still running.

3. Update or reinstall through the panel

  1. Open the Startup tab or the game install section.
  2. Use the Update or Reinstall button as the panel shows.
  3. Confirm the correct Steam branch (default or beta, if your group uses Feybreak or another branch).
  4. Wait for the download to finish. It can take a few minutes.

Reinstall swaps Palworld binaries on the host. It should not wipe saves if you did not check a wipe data option. Still, the step 1 backup is mandatory.

4. Start and check the version

  1. Start the server in Power.
  2. Wait for the Console log to stop spamming and the world to be ready.
  3. Type Info in the Console, no slash.
  4. Compare the version number with what your friends see in Steam.

5. Tell the group

Send the usual IP and say everyone needs to update Palworld on the client. If nina.pal tries to join on an old version, the game refuses or hangs on the connection screen.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you order

No, if you backed up and did not delete the saves folder. The update swaps game files. The vale-cattiva save stays separate.

Yes. Client and server need the same Palworld version. Anyone behind cannot join until they update through Steam or Xbox.

In the panel Console run Info with the server on. Compare with the version Steam shows in the PC library.
