How to add and remove admins on Project Zomboid

After the main admin account is set in the panel, you can give the same power to someone else. In Project Zomboid that is setaccesslevel, in the RoxyCloud console.

Before you send the command

  • The server must be running in Power.
  • The person already joined once with the right name. A brand-new account will not be found.
  • The name in the command is the in-game account. Example: rafa.costa
  • If the name has a space, use quotes: setaccesslevel "Rafa Costa" admin

Add an admin

  1. Open the RoxyCloud panel and the server.
  2. Open the Console tab.
  3. Type the command and send it.
Panel console
setaccesslevel rafa.costa admin

rafa.costa becomes admin. Ask them to leave and join again if the power does not show up right away.

Remove an admin

The same command, same console. The last value becomes none.

Panel console
setaccesslevel rafa.costa none

The account stays on the server. It only loses the admin role.

Other levels

The game accepts more than one level. The ones people use most in the console are:

  • admin: full control
  • moderator: helps moderate without owning the server
  • overseer: watches and uses some tools
  • gm: game master
  • none: normal player
Examples
setaccesslevel rafa.costa moderator
setaccesslevel ana.pires overseer
setaccesslevel rafa.costa none

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you order

The in-game account name, the same one they use to join. It is not the RoxyCloud email.

Yes. The console only sends a command while the world is up. The person needs to have joined at least once so the account exists.
