How to change the DayZ server map

You want Livonia or Sakhal instead of Chernarus. On dedicated that is not a checkout button: it is the template field in serverDZ.cfg, and the folder must exist in mpmissions. Anyone joining needs the DLC on the client if the map requires it.

By the end of this guide the server starts on the new map. Bases and vehicles from the old map stay in the old folder.

Where the map lives

serverDZ.cfg, Missions block → template. Folders live in C:\DayZServer\mpmissions. Confirm the folder exists before starting.

Step by step

1. Stop DayZServer_x64.exe.
2. In Explorer, confirm the folder exists under C:\DayZServer\mpmissions.
3. Open serverDZ.cfg and change the template.
4. Save. Start the server.
5. Tell the group: anyone without the DLC cannot join a map that requires DLC.

How to verify

1. Server starts without a missing-mission error.
2. In the client, loading and terrain match the map (e.g. Livonia, not Chernarus).
3. Someone without DLC: missing-content message, not a mysterious black screen.

If it failed

• Folder does not exist in mpmissions → wrong template name or incomplete 223350 download.
• Client without DLC → buy/activate the DLC on the player's Steam.
• Still on the old map → did not save the cfg or did not restart the process.
