How to upload your Terraria world to the server

Moving progress from your PC to RoxyCloud means uploading the .wld file and telling the panel which name to open. Without the right name, the server makes a new map and it looks like the upload failed.

Find the world on your PC

  • Vanilla: Documents\My Games\Terraria\Worlds
  • tModLoader: Documents\My Games\Terraria\tModLoader\Worlds (the path may include the version number).
  1. Open the Worlds folder in File Explorer.
  2. Write down the file name without the extension. Example: if the file is caverna-azul.wld, the name is caverna-azul.
  3. Copy the .wld and, if it exists, the .wld.bak to an easy folder.

Upload in the panel

  1. Open the RoxyCloud panel and your server.
  2. Stop it with Power.
  3. Open Files.
  4. Go into the Worlds folder (or Mundos, depending on the panel label).
  5. Upload the .wld and the .bak.
  6. Open the Startup tab.
  7. In the world name field (world name / save name), type exactly caverna-azul, without .wld.
  8. Start the server with Power.

Check that it worked

  • In the Console, see if the server opened the name you uploaded.
  • Join through the IP and look for known builds and biomes.
  • If an empty map appeared, the name in Startup is probably different from the file.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you order

Vanilla: Documents\My Games\Terraria\Worlds. tModLoader: Documents\My Games\Terraria\tModLoader (or the version folder) \Worlds. The main file ends in .wld.

It helps. The .bak is a backup. If the upload corrupts the main file, you still have the copy.

The name in Startup did not match the file. Terraria creates a new world when it cannot find a .wld with that name.
